Cats N Co was founded in May 2020 by me, Sarah. I picked the name because I didn’t want to limit myself by a specific product name so I could continue to expand my business over time. I thought, “hey, I have cats, Cats N Co is a great name!”.  And my logo is based on an adorable picture of our two girls, Maddie & Kitty.  

I started Cats N Co on Etsy so I had a way to share my art with the world. It started out as just paintings, simple silhouette-style paintings. But about a year later, I started creating my 3D Flower Art. It was a totally different way of doing art and expressing my creativity. It was just an idea that popped into my head one day and was very abstract and different from the art I had done up until then. I began to make Acrylic Pour Art not long after then. I wanted to do more art and to improve upon my old paintings; I wanted to create something of which I was proud. I loved the entire process of creating Acrylic Pour Art -  it was such a fun way to be creative that wasn’t like anything I had previously done.

Then in April of 2022, I started learning the process to make candles. I love finding new scents to make into candles. I learned so many new skills through making candles and wax melts and I have absolutely fallen in love with the process. It’s now the main part of the business.

Overall these crazy few years have led me to own my own business while still just a teenager and I couldn’t be happier. I love running Cats N Co and doing all the behind-the-scenes things of running a business, but most of all I love the idea that things I have made are in people’s homes and that they love and enjoy them.
